3 Different ways to do glottal stops in VOCALOID (and other programs)
A glottal stop (to oversimplify it) is when there's a small gap of silence between two vowels, like how british people say "bottle", for example. (a glottal stop can also occur between consonants but for the purposes of this example, I'll just be covering vowels) 1. Using a phoneme Putting a [Sil], [Asp] or [?] Phoneme in between two vowels will make an okay-sounding glottal stop, this is the easiest method. For certain voicebanks, [Asp] will actually draw pitch towards the note so you can move it down a bit to sound more realistic. Sadly this won't really work properly in VOCALOID2 since Sil, Asp and ? skip the note in front of it if there's not enough space between them. 2. The spiky thing Drawing a dip all the way down to the bottom of the pitch parameter and then zooming in and adding spikes can result in a very thick sounding glottal stop effect.
